Overview

This course offered by the University of Washington is directed toward hospital medicine physicians, ARNPs, and PAs. The purpose of the course is to update the skills of inpatient providers with a focus on common problems in clinical care. The format consists of brief, directed live or video presentations followed by discussions where participants will be able to ask the presenters questions. This format guarantees question-and-answer interaction time between faculty and attendees.

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, attendees should be able to:


  1. Determine appropriate inpatient management of patients with heart failure.
  2. Understand appropriate procedural management of inpatients with cirrhosis.
  3. Identify and manage hematologic and oncologic emergencies.
  4. Understand the principles of acute inpatient pain management.

IMPORTANT PAYMENT INFORMATION

Per UW CME policy, you are not considered to be registered for the course until full payment has been received. Unpaid orders do not "reserve" spots for conferences or workshops.

CANCELLATION POLICY
The Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) must receive written notification of your cancellation by July 7, 2022.  A $75.00 processing fee will be deducted from refund requests received by this date. No refunds will be issued following July 7, 2022.  The Office of Continuing Medical Education reserves the right to cancel this course twenty (20) days prior to the course date when a minimum enrollment is not met or for other reasons that prevent the University from holding the course. Each registrant will be notified by written notification and receive a full refund. CME retains the right to transition to online/virtual learning should the health and safety of our faculty and attendees warrant it. TARGET AUDIENCE
For physicians, ARNPs, and PAs who take care of hospitalized general medicine patients. Subspecialty healthcare providers who work in inpatient settings (e.g., cardiology hospital medicine or intensivists) may also find the program to be a good update in general medicine inpatient care.

ONLINE MATERIALS
Instruction materials will be available online at uwcme.org (for conference registrants only). Materials will be available beginning on July 18, 2022, for registrants to print and/or download. Content will be recorded and available to attendees for educational purposes. Attendees will be notified when recordings are available, approximately 4-6 weeks after course completion. CME credit is available only for attending the live webinar; no credit is available for watching the recorded lectures.
