David Garcia, MD

Dr. Garcia received his medical degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, completed internal medicine residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and his hematology fellowship at the University of Washington.  He is now Professor of Medicine, in the Division of Hematology at the University of Washington since 2013.

Dr. Garcia has been either an investigator or steering committee member for numerous clinical trials related to the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic disease.  He has authored or co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Blood, the New England Journal of Medicine, and Circulation. Dr. Garcia has been involved with the development of several different clinical practice Guidelines on Anti-thrombotic Therapy and has served as the President of the Anticoagulation Forum.
