DS2616: UW Medicine Primary Care Lightning Rounds

The goal of these 30-minute sessions is to provide timely, evidence-based clinically updated information in an efficient and engaging manner. The target audience members are primary care clinicians who spend the majority of their time in clinical practice. The presentations emphasize the “why” behind the diagnostic and therapeutic pathways in our clinical quality initiatives and include clinical pearls for the practicing clinician ideally using patient scenarios. Highlighting recent changes in recommendations, clarifying controversies and identifying important steps to undertake once the patient gets into the clinic are all appropriate themes for these sessions. Topics like HCC coding or billing tips, population health outreach tactics and panel statistics are embedded when applicable, but are not be the focus.

1. Review and discuss the "why" behind the diagnostic and therapeutic pathways in our clinical quality initiatives.
2. Incorporate changes in recommendations and identify important steps to undertake in patient care related to the clinical quality initiative presented.
3. Utilize documentation and billing and coding tools in relation to clinical quality initiatives as appropriate.

Accreditation with Commendation: The University of Washington School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
