Topics can include discussions about: new research findings, health care delivery, updates on the diagnosis and treatment of surgical problems, evaluation of surgical outcomes, innovations in medical education, implications of new science discoveries and innovation, and a variety of other topics relevant to the surgical field.

Objectives
  1. Provide learning experiences based on clear objectives for education of general and subspecialty surgeons during their residency and clinical practice following formal training.
  2. Integrate principles of basic sciences with clinical experiences.
  3. Topics presented will globally promote a broad understanding of the role of surgery and its interaction and collaboration with other medical disciplines such as general medicine, psychiatry, and pediatrics.
  4. Address social and cultural changes and their impact and intersection with surgical practice to assure the best environment and care for both patients and those providing care.
