Overview

Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is a collaborative model of medical education and care management that seeks to empowers clinicians everywhere to provide better care to more people, right where they live. The focus of this ECHO project is to provide the enhanced diabetes, lipid, obesity and lipid knowledge to clinicians that will allow them to improve cardiometabolic care to patients in under-served areas in the Washington State. Through participation in telemedicine conferences with specialists, this project provides primary care clinicians and other health care providers (PA, ARNP, RN), access  to specialists. The format is a series of 24 virtual conferences, each about 1.0-1.15 hours. Each conference includes about 30 minutes of didactic presentation(s) and 30 minutes with community provider case discussion and Q&A. The educational methods include these lectures, mentored guidance in treatment principles and on-on-one support if needed. The live content will be recorded for future viewing to those for credit (if unable to participate in the live offering).

At the conclusion of the series, participants should be able to:

  1. Combat clinical and medication inertia around cardiometabolic therapy.

Registration

After registering, learners can access the OnDemand content available following these steps:

  1. Locate "MyCME" on your screen
  2. Select "Tests"
  3. Locate the preferred session of "OT2207 CardioMetabolic ECHO" and click "Pre-Test" to begin. Additional instructions are contained within each session.
  4. In order to receive a certificate, you must complete the evaluation following the post-test.

Accreditation

Accreditation with Commendation: The University of Washington School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation: The University of Washington School of Medicine designates this other activity for a maximum of 24.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Each session is worth 1.0 credit. You can participate in the live, enduring material and/or both. You can only claim credit once per session (live vs recorded).  In order to receive credit, learners must attend the live webinar OR watch the recorded content.  For webinar recordings, learners must answer pre/post test questions with a 70% pass rate to receive credit.  All learners must complete the post-session assessment to claim credit.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 24 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the University of Washington School of Medicine’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

ACPE Accreditation
The Washington State Pharmacy Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as aProvider of continuing pharmacy education. Each session is worth 1.0 CPE. To receive credit you must complete the post-session evaluation for each session you attend.
