Participants will discuss research and advances in the neurosciences. Neurology Grand Rounds include clinical case presentations by Neurology residents, didactic and advanced lectures by faculty in Neurology and in other School of Medicine departments, as well as special presentations by invited speakers from peer institutions. Lectures are focused on topics relevant to the practice of neurology, for an audience of clinical providers, clinical researchers, trainees and students in the neurological/neuroscience fields. Topics include clinical research and scientific discovery, case presentations of medical management of neurological conditions, and physician wellness and history of the science. Neurology Grand Rounds occur every Thursday at the University of Washington (UW) Medical Center in Seattle, WA or via Zoom. The Neurology Lecture Series occurs weekly, on Wednesdays, and includes presentations on general neurology topics, focusing on cerebrovascular disease (i.e., stroke), movement disorders, neuromuscular diseases. The lecturers typically review the current literature on topics and provide evidence-based diagnostic or treatment recommendations. The goal is to provide extensive and practical neurology training and review for physicians within the UW, as well as for clinicians and providers viewing remotely.
