Overview

The primary purpose of the Laboratory Medicine Grand Rounds lecture series is to provide up-to-date information on laboratory testing for the diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of disease. The series covers ordering and interpreting tests, as well as issues related to quality improvement in clinical laboratory services. Talks will encompasses current research and trends in Laboratory Medicine and in medicine in general, and addresses how these are likely to impact the future practice of medicine.

All participants will be asked to pay a one-time fee of $50 to register for the Laboratory Medicine Enduring Material Content. This fee covers online content for the entire academic year's worth of Laboratory Medicine Grand Rounds CME sessions (up to 30 sessions).  Once you have paid and registered, you will receive an email when your payment is processed and content is available. Please note there will be a delay of up to 10 days after CME receives your paid registration in order to receive access to the content. If it has been longer than 14 days since your original registration, please send an email to [email protected] to check on your content status.

UW Laboratory Medicine Grand Rounds meets the expected criteria to offer SAM credit for American Board of Pathology (ABPath) diplomates for Continuing Certification (CC), formerly known as Maintenance of Certification (MOC). UW Lab Medicine reports all ABPath SAM credit completions to ACCME's Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS).

To Earn CME and SAM Credit:

  • Register and pay for your CME credit.
    • Please note there may be a delay of up to 10 days after CME receives your paid registration in order to receive access to the content.
  • You will be required to watch a video recording of the lecture and complete a post-test.
  • A passing score on the post-test will be necessary to receive your CME credit. The passing score is listed on the activity page.
  • Each session will take approximately one (1) hour to watch the video and complete the post-test.
  • Complete the activity evaluation prior to issuance of your certificate.
  • To view the recorded material after completion or view your test results, click the box under “Show completed tests” to have these options displayed.

  3. Apply current concepts in laboratory testing to the diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of disease.
  4. Describe current research in the practice of medicine and how this research might impact the future of laboratory testing.
