The UW Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine is committed to excellence in patient care, education and research, meeting the health care needs of UW Medicine and our patients and partners throughout the WWAMI region and the world. The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine UW Education Series (Grand Rounds & HMC Thursday Conferences) reflects our mission by providing formal presentations and discussions of clinical, scientific, and educational topics relevant to the practice and field of Anesthesiology, Pain and Perioperative Medicine. The general focus of our educational series is to provide cutting edge knowledge and methodological approaches in the various fields of care and discovery that our profession encompasses. To maintain the state-of-the-art patient care and promote innovative research in the field, we utilize experts in areas of medical and basic science, education, sociology, health care governance and administration. The sessions are attended by students, residents, fellows, faculty, and nurse anesthetists (CRNAs). Lectures are live streamed and recorded.
