This multi-day Behavioral Health Consortium educational offering provides comprehensive, evidence-informed education for healthcare professionals working with individuals experiencing behavioral and psychiatric conditions. The program covers core topics including psychiatric diagnoses, therapeutic communication, de-escalation strategies, equitable diversity and inclusion (EDI) skills within the behavioral health context, suicide risk identification and prevention, patient safety, use of restraints, and additional relevant behavioral health concerns. It emphasizes teamwork and interprofessional collaboration across care settings.

1. Build foundational psychiatric, therapeutic and patient-centered competencies that include core assessments, interventions, specialty specific protocols and workflows.
2. Strengthen psychiatric professional judgment and critical thinking in areas such as identifying clinical changes, prioritizing patient needs, managing escalating situations, applying evidence-based approaches and navigating complex or unfamiliar situations.
3. Foster collaboration, build leadership skills and promote team integration by creating networking opportunities and supporting real-work situations and practice.
