John Lynch, MD, MPH, FIDSA is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington, USA. He is an associate medical director at Harborview Medical Center, a county hospital that serves as the Level 1 trauma and burn facility in the Pacific Northwest US and oversees the hospital’s infection prevention & control (IPC), antimicrobial stewardship (AS), sepsis and employee health programs. Dr. Lynch is the medical director and primary investigator for the UW Tele-Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (UW TASP), a program that has provided weekly teaching and mentoring in AS and IPC for small, rural, and critical access hospitals since 2017. He also works with the International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH) on a CDC-funded project to implement IPC and COVID-19 programs in hospitals in Kenya. He has led the UW Medicine COVID-19 EOC Medical Technical Team since January 2020, chairs the IDSA COVID-19 PPE guidelines committee and has consulted for Alaska Airlines, the National Football League, the Port of Seattle, Vertical World and several schools on COVID-19.
