Andrew Huffer, MD

Dr. Huffer is a board-certified Vascular Neurologist at the Seattle VA, where he is the Medical Director of the OIG-certified Primary Stroke Center. He completed his medical school and residency at the University of Rochester and a Vascular Neurology Fellowship at Harborview Medical Center – University of Washington. He sees patients on the in-patient neurology service, outpatient stroke clinics, and as a consultant with the VA National Telestroke Program. He serves as the site co-PI and Medical Management Physician for the CREST-2 trial (Carotid Revascularization and Medical Management for Asymptomatic Carotid Stenosis Trial). He is also the site PI for the ARCADIA trial (Atrial Cardiopathy and Antithrombotic Drugs in Prevention after Cryptogenic Stroke). In his role as Assistant Professor with the University of Washington Department of Neurology, he spends time teaching medical students and residents, and is a course organizer for the School of Medicine’s Mind, Brain, and Behavior Course.
