Tarek Hanna, MD

Dr. Hanna is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Emory University School of medicine, and the Associate Director of the Division of Emergency and Trauma Imaging at Emory Healthcare. He is a nationally recognized expert in emergency radiology, with approximately 50 peer-reviewed publications and 75 scientific/educational abstracts. He is the recipient of both local and national research awards. Dr. Hanna’s research interests include best practices in diagnostic modality choice and imaging technique in the Emergency Department (ED), ED imaging resource utilization, and minimizing diagnostic error with the goal of optimizing clinical care and patient outcomes. He is passionate about resident and fellow education and is the Program Director of the Emergency Radiology Fellowship at Emory University.
