Dr. Moorman received his undergraduate degree in English, with College Honors, from the University of Washington, and his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He did his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the University of Washington Medical Center. He is currently a Clinical Professor of Medicine in the UW Division of Cardiology, and Section Head for General Cardiology.
In his outpatient general cardiology practice, Dr. Moorman diagnoses and treats patients with disorders of the cardiovascular system, including coronary disease, heart failure, hypertension, lipid disorders, arrhythmias, and valve disease. He also attends in the UW Medical Center CCU. He is board certified in echocardiography and serves as Associate Echo Lab Director for the UW Eastside Specialty Center. In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Moorman is the Associate Program Director for the cardiology fellowship, was a principal investigator for the ISCHEMIA and ISCHEMIA-CKD clinical trials of ischemic heart disease management, and also an investigator for the FOURIER clinical trial of PCSK9 inhibitor therapy.
